	The Club edition 2018 Teddy bear, is 29 cm in size, 5-way jointed, made from a cream colored wool felt, is limited to the pieces produced in 2018 and comes in a collectors box with certificate of authenticity. This bear is the first in a series of three matching bears decorated with Swarovski® crystals. A satin bow underscores the elegant character. This Club edition Teddy bear will only be available in 2018. EAN 421471

	The Event bear 2018, only available at special Steiff trunk shows and club events, is 5-way jointed, is made out of cream colored mohair and is a 21 cm in size. The cuddly-looking Event Teddy bear is the companion to the Club edition and, despite a completely different character and material, is a perfect match for it. The bear does not come in a box but has a certificate of authenticity. The bear will only be available in 2018. EAN 421488

	Steiff Club membership gift 2018 Teddy bear, is 10 cm in size, 5-way jointed, and comes in a collectors box with certificate of authenticity. This bear stands apart from all predecessors: This year’s annual gift has a new design and is made of finest cream colored wool felt. The hand-embroidered nose and the delicate satin bow complement each other perfectly. The bear will only be available in 2018 and the edition size has not been announced by Steiff yet. EAN 421501

	Harlequin Teddy bear and little elephant is only available to Steiff Club members. Harlequin is 50 cm in size, 5-way jointed, and made from light blue/red colored alpaca and little elephant is 15 cm in size, not jointed and made from light blue/red colored mohair. In the Roaring 20s, there was a tremendous demand for colorful Steiff Teddy bears with happy faces. One very famous example, the Harlequin bear, was made as a one-of-a-kind sample in 1925. In 1999, he sold at a special auction for around 91.000 Euros (109,000 USD). Steiff has breath new life into this storied design with this Margarete Steiff edition for 2018. The bear’s handmade nose is made of black Nappa leather and the paw pads of yellow Nappa leather. The Harlequin Teddy bear features handmade glass eyes. Onyx beads are used for the little elephant eyes. Both pieces of the set wear a polished stainless steel button and a woven black "Margarete Steiff Edition" label in their ears. 	The Steiff Teddy bear set Steiff Summer Festival 2018, are limited to 500 pieces, are 5-way jointed, both bears are 16 cm in size and are exclusively sold at the festival. While the material is classical and traditional, the design is very modern: the Steiff Summer Teddy bears are made of finest gray and pink colored mohair. The paws of the bears are made in the same color as the color of the other bear, so the gray bear has pink paws and the pink bear has gray paws. 	The Steiff mini Teddy bear Steiff Summer Festival 2018, is limited to 138 pieces, 13 cm in size and was not available for sale. This bear was presented as a gift by Steiff to each of the exhibitors at the Steiff Summer festival. 	The Steiff Workshop Teddy bear 2018 has been produced at one of the workshops organized by Steiff. The unusual aspect of this bear is that there is no bear in this edition which looks alike. Each bear was produced by one of the participants of the workshops organized by the Steiff Club during the year. The bears paws are embroidered with "Steiff Workshop" (right) and name of the participant and date of the workshop (left). Each participant could choose the color of the eyes and the yarn for the stitching of the nose, mouth and paws. The eyes were put in by the participants as was the stitching of the nose, mouth and paws. 	The Krumbacher chick, is 14 cm in size, not jointed, made from yellow colored plush and is limited to 10000 pieces. Krumbach is a company in Germany that produces mineral water. After a succesful campaign in 2017 (Steiff Krumbacher plush cow) was a new campaign started in Autumn 2018. After a customer bought 15 cases, each containing 12 bottles, of mineral water one could obtain the Krumbacher chick for free. 	The Alfonzo, is 20 cm in size, 5-way jointed, made from red colored mohair, is limited t0 1908 pieces, is a smaller replica of the original and was issued by the Art museum Denmark to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Alfonzo. In 1989 the Christie’s catalogue told the story of how this small red Steiff bear was given to Princess Xenia of Russia in 1908 by her father, Grand Duke George Michailovich. In the summer of 1914 the princess brought Alfonzo with her for a visit to Buckingham Palace and was prevented from returning to Russia by the outbreak of war. Five years later the Grand Duke was assassinated at the Fortress of St Peter and St Paul. This story, combined with the rarity of the bear, was enough to encourage Ian Pout of Teddy Bears of Witney to pay a world record price for him. Alfonzo’s provenance could not have been more perfectly endorsed. He became accessible to all when Steiff made a limited edition of him in 1990. Other versions by Teddy Bears of Witney followed. From 1989 to 2017 Alfonzo was occasionally exhibited at events in Germany, Monaco, San Diego and Kyoto but most of the time he spent at his home in Witney. A serious illness in 2013 and his subsequent seventieth birthday combined to make Ian Pout think seriously about Alfonzo’s future. Parting with him would be traumatic but, at just this time, serendipity alighted. Gitte Thorsen, a Danish bear artist already well known to Ian, told him that she had left her full-time job as Designmaster at LEGO to help with the formation of a new teddy bear museum to be built in Billund, within walking distance of Legoland. There was already a connection to Denmark as Princess Xenia’s mother was Princess Marie of Denmark. A few months later Ian met the owners of the museum, Gunhild Kirk Johansen and her husband Mogens, along with Gitte and Johnny, Gitte’s husband, who were also helping to set up the museum. The decision was made and a new journey for Alfonzo was about to begin. Alfonzo will be on display at the Teddy Bear Art Museum, Denmark, from the Spring of 2018 when the new museum opens.
